1. SEO Perspective:

Think from the view point of a SEO Perspective before deciding your content.
When I say SEO perspective, it should be related to some known stuffs like keywords and seo copywriting. SEO copywriting is a vital issue when one talks about content. We define SEO Copyrighting as presenting or writing search engine friendly content. SEO Copyrighting is all about placing your keywords at the correct areas in the content of your webpage. The keywords should be relevant and should be able to connect, inform and convince the search engine spiders. Unless your web- content is highly stuffed with rich keywords, there is nothing more you could do to well of good and improved search engine rankings!

2. Become a good Psychologist!

A good content writer must be a good Psychologist first. Before preparing any thoughts on ‘What should the Content be', be a psychologist first. Read the minds of the potential visitors from available website references in the Web world. People have a very ‘Short Attention Span', basically the online visitors. So the Content should be such so that it presents precise and to the point information in the form of content. It should be remembered that audience is not in anything more than his own area of interest. This might be due short attention period of online visitors, due to his time constraint or he knows some other websites which he feels is good for it. So, try to gather all possible knowledge about the online visitors because this will help the Content writer to decide what has to be included into the contents. The content should be totally based on the product and services intended for sales.

After you have implemented the above two Formulae of Good Content writing, go ahead with the Writing Tips mentioned below:
Writing Website Content - A Step-by-Step Guide

1. Knowledge about the Audience: It's very important for a Content writer to have the knowledge about the audience. Knowledge about the audience to the site helps invariably the content writer to decide what is to be included or how the contents of the webpage should be! Moreover, website visitors are not going to visit the page to read and enjoy highly technical words.

2. Optimization of the webpage content: Place your informational content precisely, clearly and to the point. To be more precise, ‘Optimize' your web content. Do not confuse your website visitors! An extra word in the content is just a waste of time and energy and also deviates the online visitor from the actual points and by the process it will end up in mere confusion. SEO Copywriting plays an important part in this optimization process!

3. Be the best Judge before final approval: Criticize your own work. Place yourself the place of the online visitors and evaluate what is the best content for your webpage. Find the areas of flaws and areas of improvement to get best ou of it.

How do we visitors read on the web?

As I said earlier the people have a very short attention period, basically the online visitors. Most of us don't read the webpage word by word until and unless it's very important. Similarly, as a Content writer, do not expect a visitor to read a page word by word. So, it's very important for a content writer to use a Scannable text for the page. The content writer should follow some rules to make text content Scannable. These are:

- Highlight the keywords, phrases with proper color, font type and size.
- Write meaningful headings for the paragraphs.
- Use bulleted lists
- Provide different subject in separate paragraph
- Maintain the logical flow of the article.
- Use appropriate visual breaks (Quotes, Statistics, Charts, and Pictures etc)
- Use anchor text instead of URL links.

One Final Word

"Content is the King"-right? Wrong!! "Good and Quality content is the King". Always try to convey the content message in a lesser number of words as much as possible. The online visitors are not going to read a big page about what the site is trying to sell or to convey. Make sure in the process of reducing in numbers of words the entire idea should not loose its idea.
