Many new marketers may wonder whether press releases orarticles are the better marketing source. The main thing to remember with these two types of marketing is thatthey are both completely different.

 

The only similarity in press releases and articles is thatthey need to be well written, have good relevant content, and be optimized withkeywords to get ranked in the search engines. Other than these similarities, they are completely different from eachother. 

 

If you are writing and submitting articles to articledirectories, you hope that they will get read and your link will get clickedon.  You may even see your article onsomeone else's website.  This is alwaysa good thing for your business, as you will then have good linkpopularity. 

 

Article writing is writing about relevant information aboutyour subject of expertise.  This willmake you look like an expert in your field.

 

Press releases, on the other hand, are not at all likearticles.  They are written in theperspective of getting the news out.  Itis kind of like an announcement.  Pressreleases are not submitted to article sites, and they are not used to submitother articles.  Many people get thesemixed up with articles and end up writing more of an article than a newsrelease.

 

When you think of writing a press release, think of what youwould read in a newspaper.  It needs tobe newsworthy.  It isn't anadvertisement or some type of self promotion. You can do a press release on almost anything.  Anything new that needs announced is good for a pressrelease.  Starting a new blog, lens, orcompany is definitely newsworthy. 

 

The key to remember about press releases is that you shouldonly8 submit them when you have something newsworthy to announce.  Don't submit a press release for the purposeof getting people to read your newest article that you submitted.  Submit your press releases sparingly. 

 

Press releases and articles are not to be mixed.  They are two completely different entitiesand should be kept that way.  If youfollow this concept, you will see better results from the articles and pressreleases you submit.
