Ovarian Cysts come about basically because of a failed or disordered ovulation. It is however important to know the causes for their formation. When the follicle cannot release an egg and keeps on growing; this is when the cyst gets formed. The cyst also gets formed when the place where the egg gets released is blocked even after it is released by the follicle. Because of this the corpus luteum cannot be formed and a cyst to appear. It has also been found in studies carried out recently that more xenoestorgens can be a primary cause in the formation of Ovarian Cysts.

To fully understand what causes an ovarian cyst, you need to have basic knowledge of the functioning of the endocrine glands. The brains lower portion is the hypothalamus and below this is the pituitary gland. The hypothalamus starts sending pulses of gonadotropin-releasing (GnRH) to the pituitary gland when a woman's estrogen and progesterone levels drop. In turn, the pituitary gland sends the FSH or the follicle-stimulating hormone that targets the ovary, and this is responsible for beginning the ovas (within the follicle) maturation process. These follicles ultimately discharge the estrogen.

Within around ten days, the level of estrogen in a woman body goes up by a considerable extent. At this point the hypothalamus enhances the GnRHs production and the pituitary gland also makes the LH or the Luteinizing Hormone. Ovulation is further promoted by the LH and the follicles are turned into corpus luteum, which secretes progesterone (the dominating hormone in the reproductory cycles second half). If there is no pregnancy, the corpus luteum becomes degenerated and the estrogen and progesterone levels fall.

In the normal course, ovaries grow like small cysts every month. Sometimes however unusually, the follicle keeps on growing- when this happens the cyst gets formed. The cyst thus started as something very normal when the menstrual cycle was starting. What then causes the follicles to behave dysfunctionally and stops the eggs release?

It is believed by experts that it is because of the female embryo getting exposed to environmental pollutants and xenobiotic, this can fake the estrogens chemical action on the baby tissue. At the time of development of the embryo, there are about 600 to 800 thousand follicles that are created, which are individually enclosed within the immature ovum.

The mother suffers no apparent ill-effects from the xenobiotics. However the baby is much more susceptible to its impact; the ovarian follicles can become damaged and dysfunctional. They thus are not able to become mature and secrete progesterone in enough numbers. And this damage doesn't come to be known till the child has attained puberty. Holistic remedies are the only alternative to treat the ovarian cyst causes.

The truth of the matter is that we cannot pinpoint any one single cause of ovarian cysts. Like many other health related problems, ovarian cysts also are caused due to many primary and also secondary factors and the result of interaction between these two also. Further, there are other agents within the body which, while they cannot by themselves initiate the ovarian cyst, can aggravate the cyst that already exists.

Many mental and external factors may upset the human body natural balance and manifest themselves in the form of cysts. There is a need therefore to have a complete approach to this issue. This is the reason why most medications are absolutely unable to tackle the main reason why the ovarian cysts are formed. They may be able to offer a temporary relief when it comes to the pain, but often cause damage to the liver and kidney while doing so.

The basic problem is that conventional medications tend only to focus on the affected parts and never treat the disease as a unified whole. Whereas the cysts are not formed because of the fact that a single part of the body malfunctioned, but due to many reasons that relates to many organs in the body and their workings. Some people get ill often because of many genetic factors but that doesn't mean that we should accept this helplessly.

By following a holistic remedy, a person can even alter his genetic structure to some degree. The problem can be checked and the patients lost health and energy can be replenished. The holistic remedy is a method of treating the disease by following a healthy lifestyle and eating a diet that lets the body get rid of the toxic buildups and other elements that makes the immune system weak.

There are many factors, such as imbalance in the hormones particularly at the menstruation cycle, sleeplessness and relentless stress, antibiotic medicines and steroids which can all bring on an ovarian cyst. A holistic approach achieves the cure and there is no need for any antibiotics or steroids, and this line of treatment is effective and safe too.
