Beginners courses for learning the art of massage are available to everyone. You do not need any prior experience or qualifications to attend. All you need is a basic interest in this fascinating therapeutic treatment. This can be simply because you have a genuine interest in massage and would like to learn more by attending a class so that you can get some real hands on experience and learn a little more about the history and the different types of massage available.

For others the reason for attending a massage course maybe a little more serious in that they learn the skills of massage with a view to starting a career where the skills are needed in such areas as health clubs, hospitals, doctors surgeries and sport physiotherapy.

Your choice of course you start would depend completely on your objectives. If you plan a career path around massage then you will need to ensure that you take the correct course. If you are studying for a certification course then this will need to be a recognized certificate with the Medical Association. In some states and countries you will need to accumulate 500 hours of study and complete 60 credits to be completely qualified.

One of the best places to start is with the certification course. This will cover all aspects of basic massage and consists of over 500 hours of coursework which will give you 27 credits. Passing this course will make you a certified massage therapist which will be enough to get you some work though the salary will be reduced due to the level of certification.

This is an excellent course to start with because if you want to continue then the pass will be your entry into the nest level which is the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork exam. This is the exam you will need to complete so you will be a recognized Certified Massage Therapist or a Registered Massage Practitioner.

For people who take massage as a general interest and are looking to start a course that will introduce them to the art and provide enough basic techniques that can be used on your partner, friends and family then you will have lots to choose from. Basic holistic massage is a great introduction to this therapeutic manipulation healing technique because it provides a general overview and some practical experience in the one massage technique that is common to most of us.

This massage technique uses the hands to push and knead the muscle against bone or other muscles behind it so that the muscle become relaxed, less stressed and extracts harmful toxins from the muscle and tissue. It also improves blood circulation which is a common way to increase the healing period. This type of technique is very easy to use and is an ideal starting point for beginners.

Massage has many diverse areas and new methods are being uncovered all the time which is why professionals have to return to college every few years to learn more about the new techniques and how they can be introduced in their current line of employment.

With some many massage methods and styles available it mean there are more course options with many choosing the new one that is currently in the media or maybe one that they have personally had the pleasure of receiving and would like to know more about it so that they can pass the benefits onto others. Whatever your reasons is great to have so much choice.

Some of the most popular courses for beginners are Holistic massage, Egyptian Cartouche, Hand and Arm Massage, Hands Free Massage, Indian Head Massage, Hopi Ear Candling, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Natural Lift Facial Massage, Indian and Japanese Facial Massage, Thai Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, Thi Herb Massage, Oriental Body Massage, Reiki/Seichem massage, Chair Massage, Sports Massage and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming).

The selection of beginners massage courses you can start are wide and varied and the only choices you have to make are which level you want to learn at and which massage niche you want to master. Whatever course you choose I am sure that you will benefit from learning the fascinating art of massage.
