Selecting a Wedding Location

The marriage ceremony is where a couple unites to become one. Choosing the location for this event would seem a simple task, but it is an event that requires thorough planning and coordination especially if a unique ceremony is being planned.

Many couples will hold the wedding ceremony at a house of worship, usually a place that the bride, the groom, or some other family member attends. But what happens when the bride- and groom-to-be are of different denominations? This situation can be even more complicated if the couple have no religious affiliations.

It is at this point that the couple needs to communicate with each other about their wedding ceremony location options. There are many options to choose from. But the selection for the location of the ceremony should take place at least 12 months in advance. Waiting too long to make reservations for the location you choose could be a disappointment when you find that the place is already booked.

If you want to look at other places besides a place of worship wedding service locations can be almost anywhere- at home, at a country or yacht club, outdoors at a local, national or state park, on a yacht, on a tropical island, at a mountaintop retreat, in a medieval castle, at Disney World

Prior to making your location selection however, you've got to make sure it'll accommodate your requirements.

The rate for the location for the wedding ceremony will vary from place to place. If you are researching the rates of various locations, clearly ask what is built-in to the rate. Confirm that the items mentioned are written out on the contract, also. Most locations will require a deposit to reserve the location for your specific date. This needs to be reflected on the contract in addition to the balance amount and due date.

Although choosing the site for the wedding ceremony is very important, there are additional parts that need to be well thought out. Special attention must also be given to the songs that will be played during the ceremony and the vows that the bride and groom will exchange. This is especially important if your desire is to separate from the traditional way of doing things. Some locations include the music as part of the package. Churches have been known to offer the services of their own musicians though there could be an additional cost. For a truly unique wedding ceremony, if it is in your budget, why not write your own wedding songs and hire a small band to perform them during the wedding ceremony Or you can hire musicians to tie in with the theme of your wedding. What ever direction you decide to take, make sure that you reserve the musicians as far in advance as possible. That will ensure that you will not have any unexpected surprises close to your wedding date.

Writing your own vows can make your wedding service very special. If writing your vows is difficult try changing the words of traditional vows. This puts a truly personal touch on the event. Just be sure to give a copy of your version of the vows to the person officiating so that everyone is on the same page.
