Post tubal ligation syndrome is the name applied to all those different symptoms you have been suffering since having your tubes tied. At least, if you have run across this article, most likely that is what you are interested in learning about. Many times it is simply known by the initials PTLS or PTS.

Although many in the medical establishment believe PTLS to be nonsense, the things the women who are suffering from it go through are not myth. Doing research on the Internet could lead you to lists containing 35 up to 45 different symptoms. However, there seem to be some very consistent ones shared by most women who suffer from this medical myth as you will see in our following stories.

Among the stories I share her is the one of Shannon's symptoms. She had a loss of libido, anxiety attacks, mood swings, weight gain, depression and acne. Her periods had turned awful. While they were only 7 days long, she was unable to leave her home for the first two days due to extremely heavy flow. Her words were that she felt on "the verge of hemorrhaging" with very large clots. She also had terrible pms.

Dannygirl ( a tubal-reversal.net forum name) had headaches, severe weight gain, mood swings, loss of libido, depression and pain with her period. She also suffered hair loss as many women do that suffer from post tubal ligation syndrome. She said her hair came out by the handfuls. Her hair loss was extreme enough that other people were noticing. Again, not something you want to suffer with in your 20s.

The same general symptoms seem to be shared by many of the women. Rebecca became extremely angry and had emotional outbursts. She also suffered from terrible cramping, headaches and a loss of libido. These last two plus the mood swings seem to show up in many of the stories of post tubal ligation syndrome women.

Skate is another woman suffering from what begins to seem like the same list over and over. She has loss of libido, migraines, anxiety off the charts, and weight gain. Her periods are longer and harder and have clotting and painful, absurd uncontrollable bleeding. It makes it difficult to be in society with these type of symptoms not to mention the suffering the your family must endure as well.

If this article has helped you put a name to what you yourself have been suffering, then I feel it has been well worth the writing. I thank the ladies who let me share their symptoms in an effort to help other women who themselves might be suffering from post tubal ligation syndrome. Seek out some support. If you can't find it from your doctor or off line friends, then try to find it online. Not only will your online friends give you virtual support, they may also be able to help you find an alternative that just might help you overcome the symptoms of ptls.
