4 Tips to Maximize Heart Rate Monitors

People today have grown to be very conscious of their health condition, most especially their heart condition. With these, gadgets, especially those that are used during workouts and exercise routines include a function to monitor the person's heartbeat. These functions are generally referred to as heart rate monitors.

There are a number of gadgets that have built-in monitors such as watches, trainer bikes and a number or home aerobics equipment. A number of sports brand, brand of watches and others specialized in producing this product. So, you will not have any difficulty finding one in the market. These are designed especially for all those sports enthusiasts, sports trainers and those who do exercise routines to get fit and healthy.

Modern as we are today these gadgets have high tech terms and description details. With this, we maybe overwhelmed and would find it complicated, in turn we may not maximize the use of the function. With this in mind, we present 3 tips to maximize the use of the monitor:

1.Firstly, you need to determine the limits of the range of heart rate that is suitable for you. Estimating your working heart rate maybe done with the help of your exercise psychologist. As the experts, it is the best and recommended action. Another way is using a formula to calculate for the desired heart rate and you can do it by yourself. To do this:

For men: subtract age from 220
For women: subtract age from 226

Also, 60% of the resulting estimated heart rate range is allotted for warm up and cool down, 65-75% is for moderate pace and 75-85% is for vigorous pace.

2.Set different limits for different types of activities. Our exercise routines for certain times do not always have to strenuous. Determine those that do not get your heart rate so high and those that do. Some monitors are capable of pre-setting limits for a maximum of 10 records. This way, you will also save time in pre-setting your monitor for each routine.

3.Save your results. These results can be used for evaluation later on. For one, it can give you an idea if you had set the previous limit too low or too high. Another one is, these results can be used in analyzing your heart's capability in doing some routines and physical exercise and many other uses.

4.Analyze carefully the recorded data. The monitor records and produces data for you and you should not let it be stored and that's it. These data can tell you something. Most of the time gadgets that have a function to monitor heart rates come with a CD, which can be installed and used to analyze your data.

As you go along with using the monitor on your gadget, you will be able to discover other possible uses and capabilities of this wonder product. However, do not forget that this is only a gadget and analysis of what it gives is still in you. Listening to your body combined with data analysis can give you much more.
