Obesity is a major health concern which necessitates individual awareness. But the biggest problem is how to deal with it? Since the mid seventies, the prevalence of overweight and obesity has increased harshly for adults and children. Being overweight increase the risk of many disease and health conditions like Type-2 diabetes, Stroke, Osteoarthritis, Sleep disorder, cancers (breast and colon) and blood pressure.

But thanks to advancement in technology as it is boon for the world. An example of this is visible now in regards to losing weight. As dieting and exercising results are late and the generation not ready for wait. So the scientists have come up with an amazing diet pill called ‘Acomplia'. As there is other diet pills in market like Xenical, Ionamin, Didrex, Merridia etc. for the treatment of obesity.

Acomplia is a weight loss drug developed by sanofi, to provide pharmaceutical help for weight loss, relief in metabolic syndrome and in smoking cessation. It is selective CB1 endocannabinoid receptor antagonist. It works by blocking the connection between a pleasure-seeking activity, like smoking or overeating, and the reward "feeling" it causes in the brain. The human body contains endocannabinoids, marijuana-like substances that can stimulate the brain's reward system. The new diet drug acomplia has already generated interest among almost all obese people across the globe.

Another very recent diet pill is Alli, a half-dose over-the-counter version of Xenical, yet equally effective. Alli still awaits its FDA endorsement for being made saleable in the US weight loss market.

Alli diet pill works of the same law as xenical. It obstructs the dietary fat from being absorbed which is present in the food intake. This undigested fat is then removed from the body through bowel movements.

Although one of the national health objectives for the year 2010 is to reduce the occurrence of obesity among adults to less than 15 %, current data indicate that the situation is worsening rather than improving.

Note : Please consult with your doctor before start the treatment with any of diet pills.
