There is a war going on right now. I'm not talking about a war between countries, or people or power rangers. This war is the molecular equivalent to World War Two and it's happening, as you read this, in your body. It is the war between the Acid and the Alkaline. The Alkaline are the good guys and the Acid are the bad....And I'd bet that each and everyone of you are aiding the bad guys more than you are the good. In fact, If you've been eating things like processed foods, soda, sugar, red meat and wine, you're supplying the bad guys with WMD's.

Your body has what is called a PH Balance. Keeping that PH Balance at its natural level is the key to good health. For the most part, everything you eat can either be classified as ACIDIC or ALKALINE. Acidic foods hurt your PH and make your system acidic and Alkaline foods help your PH and make your system alkaline. This is important for many reasons, one being that cancer CANNOT survive in an alkaline environment. Its easy to tell if you are overly acidic. If you've been eating the foods above, or any junk foods etc, you are acidic. Symptoms of an acidic body include:
-Digestive Problems

-Inflammation

-Dry Skin

-Heartburn

-Lack of Energy

-Trouble Sleeping

-Acid Reflux

-Itching

-Autoimmune Diseases

-Headaches

-Detoxification Problems

-Being Over or Underweight

-Aging too Quickly

I know you may be thinking that EVERYONE has those problems. Well, they probably do...Thats because almost everyone is probably overly acidic! If you could just take a few simple steps and balance out some of your acidic foods with alkaline foods and only eat highly acidic foods once in a while, your system will re-alkalize itself and most of those problems would go away! Alkalizing your body will do the following:

1. You Will Lose Unneeded Fat- The body creates some fat to buffer itself from and neutralize acid that has built up over the years. When you alkalize and balance your PH, your body doesn't need to make any extra fat to balance excess acid.

2. Prevent Vitamin and Mineral Depletion- To neutralize acid, your body takes alkaline minerals like calcium from its bones and tissues and uses them to counteract the acid. This leads to the depletion of minerals and also to diseases like osteoporosis. Restoring your PH to the right levels with an alkaline diet will help to minimize depletion.

3. An Alkaline Diet Prevents Disease- Most diseases flourish in an acidic environment. Alkalizing your body reduces this acidity and makes it harder for diseases to form.

HOW DO YOU ALKALIZE?

~Increase Your Physical Activity~ A little exercise helps oxidize acid. Working out too much, like multiple hours every day, creates lactic acid.

~Always Eat More Alkaline Food than Acidic Food at Meals~ Eat 3 times as much alkaline food as you do acidic food. Try to eat your veggies raw, as cooking foods increase the acidity.

~Try to Avoid Most Sugar and Dairy~ These are both highly acidic. You can replace sugar with a herbal extract called Stevia. Stevia is actually much sweeter than sugar and doesn't produce the same nasty effects... it also contains antioxidants.

~Drink Pure Water with High Alkalinity~ You can tell if water is highly alkaline by looking at its PH reading that is usually printed on the label. Look for water with a PH of 8 - 10. Most tap water is acidic! Add fresh squeezed lemon juice to increase the alkalinity. Try to drink around half your body weight in ounces a day.

~Take Alkaline Mineral Supplements~ These include calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium and manganese. Alkaline supplements get rid of the acid buried deep in your tissues.

Some Acidic Foods include: Wines, sugars, hard cheese, colas, milk, white bread, pork, white pasta, artificial sweeteners, liquor, ice cream, mayo, candy, fried foods, partially hydrogenated foods, high fructose corn syrup, white rice, fast food and chocolate.

Some Alkaline Foods include: Olive oil, sprouts, beans, avocado, lemon, spinach, wild or brown rice, broccoli, stevia, garlic, wheat grass, almonds, artichokes, sea salt and most fruits.

REMEMBER, the KEY is to BALANCE your acidic foods with a little more alkaline foods.
