The first step of website creation is to find out what keywords it is going to serve. The keywords of the website are those words that best describe the purpose of the website and shall be extensively searched for in the search engine. When a user wants to look for a relevant website in the search engines he will either type the name or URL of the website or will type the most relevant keyword that is closest to the website. For example, if we are looking for a shoe repairing website, well are most likely to type shoe shops or shoe repair shop (location).

This is a tried tested and a successful technique which is also utilized in pay per click advertising. PPC advertising is the paid online marketing and advertising technique which makes use of keywords for ranking the websites in the search engines. When a website is created it is optimized for certain keywords in the meta tags, alt tags, titles and also the web page content. These keywords are also known as the primary keywords and are considered to be the most important set of words in the website.

PPC Advertising works on the bidding technique. Websites bid on the most relevant keyword for their website which is quite searchable and popular amongst visitors too. A trick here is to index your keyword not for high demand keywords, but for comparatively lower ranking keywords that attract a considerable amount of traffic. The reason for this is that the high demand keywords are extremely competitive and it will be difficult to maintain ranking for these keywords. But on the other hand, if you select a comparatively lower ranking keyword, the chances of your ranking for the keyword becomes easier and at the same time, your ppc advertising will be more successful than it would have been for the top keyword, where it will be more difficult for you to rank and sustain.

An important thing in PPC Advertising is that your website should also be optimized for the keywords that are being ranked in the search engine so that when the readers go through your website, they will be able to connect with the content in the site.
