It's easy to say to yourself that you are interested in knowing how to become an electrician. Even the most passionate interest however should be balanced by definite aptitude. You can measure your aptitude by taking a school aptitude test or you can simply look at your math and science grades.
Aside from technical interest and aptitude, you should also be able to work well with your hands in coordination with your eyes. Physical fitness and ease of movement are also a requirement since you may have to get into unusual spaces when you perform wiring. Some employers may also require skill in technical English comprehension for manual interpretation.

You could fall into a scam trap and get into a bad program. You can avoid this by entering a reputable school that has a known affiliation with groups and organizations that represent and regulate the field of electrical education.
