LG introduced latest candy-bar phone, the LG KG320, is neither the slimmest nor the smallest cellular offering in the market. But it is a simple yet petite mobile that's being touted as a portable multimedia device. Measuring only 9.9mm thick, the LG KG320 certainly looks the part, and with a casing made out of a mix of stainless steel and plastic, the phone looks classy and quality.
The LG KG320 features candy-bar curves and edges, with the keypad occupying nearly a half of the front panel with the 5-way navigational keypad, flanked by the right and left soft keys along with the call and end keys, situated just below the screen. You won't experience difficulties with typing of messaging or dialing a number because the buttons are flat and bulky in size.
A large display screen with 29Ã-36mm, 176Ã-220 pixels and support 262K colors is positioned on the front of the handset. The display is extremely good. Right above the display you will find the slot of loudspeaker, used for transmitting interlocutor's voice during calls. There is a multimedia/camera shutter key on the right of the handset. LG KG320 would have been better if it was positioned lower down, as this would simulate a real camera shutter key, giving better handling and ergonomics when using the KG320 as a camera in landscape mode. There is an universal connector for the charger and handsfree kit on the left of the phone.
The built in 1.3 megapixels camera is sit on the back of the handset withthe sliding cover protects the lens from scratches and dirt, as well as acts as an activation switch for the camera function. The onboard 1.3-megapixel camera takes both stills and videos. It is capable of capturing images in five different resolutions - 72Ã-72, 220Ã-176, 320Ã-240, 640Ã-480, and 1280Ã-960. The LG KG320 provides quite an impressive range of settings for you to tweak with. Brightness can be adjusted to one of five settings, white balance can be set to auto, cloudy, incandescent, fluorescent, or daylight, and a 4x digital zoom is provided.
LG has included a 128MB of built-in memory on the phone, to accommodate all the images, videos and music files. Unfortunately there is no expansion options to increase the memory. Battery life was average, with the KG320 lasting just three days with average use. The LG KG320 only comes with the most essential PIM functions, such as a memo pad, voice memo recorder, and calendar.
