It is because of your expectations!

My friend Paul held two jobs. Paul and Norma raised four children. Paul was a day supervisor in the warehouse at the Falstaff Brewery in New Orleans in the late 60s.

Paul would ride his bicycle for 12 miles to work each day. After he was off work, he would ride six miles to another job at a drug store. When he was off work late in the evening, he would ride his bicycle eight miles home.

Paul loves to work. He loves to ride his bicycle. He has a car; however he would much prefer to ride a bicycle.

One evening, Paul was getting off work at the drug store. He said for some reason he was tired. Paul got on his bicycle and started home. He thought he might call Norma to come and get him with the car. Paul said he never thought like this before, however he did not think he could pedal all the way home.

It was dark and he was riding down the street when a big German Shepard came running out from the side yard of a home. He started pedaling as fast as he could. The dog chases him for a long distance. Paul said that he did not stop until he arrived home. He told Norma, I do not know where the energy came from. I did not think I would make it one more block, must less four miles.

"What lies behind you and what lies before you pale in significance when compared to what lies within you." - Ralph Waldo Emerson.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Inch by inch, life is a cinch. That is all we have to do is try! Do not let your expectations expire before you do. Expectations not met produce a sick heart. Your possibilities are located in your expectations. Your expectations are located in how you see yourself in the present moment. What matters most is how you see yourself now.

We are made up of energy and information. The problem with being human is we sometimes forget or we pretend not to know. Motivation is nothing but being reminded of what we already know.

A bump on a log has energy and information; however it does not do anything. It is just a bump on a log. If you have a very good reason to do something, all the kings horses and all the kings men can not stop you. Fall in love with learning. The love of knowledge is the root of all good! We have the information, we have the energy, and it is now time to serve humanity with humility! How may I serve humanity? What can I do?

Language is the dance of life! Keep dancing in language with as many people as possible!

With best intentions to serve,
