Herb garden kits are very popular these days with everyone concerned about eating healthy and organic. Growing our own herbs to use for cooking allows you to add lots of flavor without things like sodium, sugar or fat. The main selling point on herb garden kits is that they are easy to use and that they include everything you need to successfully grow your herb garden, with no questions and no guess work.

Many want to know how well these herb garden kits really work. Well the answer to that question varies widely between kits, as does price and the contents of the kit. Overall, herb garden kits work well, though some of them work better than others. Some of these herb garden kits are quite new and use technology like hydroponics to grow larger herbs faster. Some of the other, less expensive kits have been around for decades and depend on the more traditional method of burying seeds in soil and waiting for them to grow. So much of the opinion of how well herb garden kits work is really subjective.

Herb garden kits are relatively easy to find. Most hardware stores, home centers, discount stores, nurseries, and super centers carry them. The contents of the kits will vary. Some will include seeds, while others will not. The hydroponic herb garden kits don't have seeds at all, but rather include pre-made growing pods that you just drop into the machine and wait for it to grow.

Many people assume that the more expensive the kit, the better it will work. This isn't always true. The more expensive kits are usually the more high tech kits. But if you are just looking for something small and simple, then there is no need to spend the money on the expensive high tech hydroponic kit. You can simply go for one of the small traditional kits.

Herb garden kits vary greatly in size as well. Some contain one small pot that can sit on your counter, while others contain several pots that will require a larger amount of space. One unique kit has specially designed pots that stack on top of one another while still allowing plants to grow unobstructed. This type of herb garden kit would be great for someone wanting an herb garden in their kitchen, but don't have a lot of room.

Growing herbs from a kit is a great way to start gardening. It's fun for both adults and children. Many people purchase the small traditional kits for their children to teach them about how things grow. Growing your own herbs can be rewarding as well. Fresh herbs liven up any dish you are cooking by adding flavor without adding salt or fat. So if you are thinking about taking up gardening then starting an herb garden may be a good way to go. They are small, easy and inexpensive. Check out several of the kits available on the market today and see if maybe one is right for you.
