Massage: The Extra Touch

In my Massage Therapy practice I feel the need to use therapy tools such as moist heat packs for relaxation and relieve muscle tension. I use the packs before, during and after treatments.

My clients are hard working UPS drivers, construction workers, steel workers and those who have physically intensive work. Their bodies are sore, tense and just plain hurting, but they cannot afford to take days off for sick leave. I make their appointment one that lets them feel energized and ready to get back to work

There are several insurance companies that offer alternative treatment programs for medical massage. Employers get the benefit of employees feeling energized and less injury prone. In return for the benefits of the employer and employee, I get compensated for doing what I love.

Some companies in our area have what they call "Corporate Challenge", employees compete under the flag of their employers. Those that have not quite hit their athletic peak come to visit after they have gone too far for the sake of the company. Do I consider myself a sports massage therapist? Yes, I certainly do. My clients are again participating in their individual and team events.

When it is needed I sub out at a "Destination Resort & Spa", and occasionally come in contact with the tennis injuries that are related to the elbow, knee and lower back. There are a few golfers who have shoulder and back soreness also. The moist hot/cold packs and wraps are a therapist best friend. I consider myself a massage therapist, but the clients want the therapeutic massage.

I am impressed with the moist heat it penetrates and has lasting relief from tension, injury and pain. After treatment, clients are still feeling the effect of moist heat. They say their bodies "tingle and feel alive." I am fortunate to be able to have on hand the therapy tools that my clients can purchase. I feel it is an advantage to have the product there for my clients to purchase; everybody seems to be happy with being able to take home the magic.

The products that I work with are filled with rice, whole natural herbs and spices selected for their unique healing effects on the mind, body and spirit. These therapeutic blends offer analgesic and sedating properties to help relieve pain, promote relaxation, enhance sleep and reduce physical and emotional tension.
