Krishna the pilot of Arjuna's chariot speak of eternal life while convincing the archer to leave fear for death on the battle field, he gives no good argument as to why the physical bodies of warriors should die in a violent way now instead of dieing in a peaceful way some time later. Even if soul will get a new life in another body or perhaps find an eternal happiness in heaven once this body dies, there is no difference why these changes should take place before they are naturally intended. Although the following life may be better than the one we are currently living, there is no reason to be forced in it through such violent and brutal methods as a civil war.

Krishna presents a second idea of Samkya Wisdom taking into account Arjuna's original belief that everything dies with the bodies. He says that if Arjuna believes that everything is permanently born and permanently dies, he should not sorrow. Krishna refers to popular belief when he says that since everything that lives must die, everything that dies must be reborn. Death is certain for the man who is born, and vice versa birth is certain for everyone who has gone. As a consequence, we should not sorrow over things that are unavoidable.

This argument rests upon a popular belief of the revival of the dead being and the birth of all living things. This is a completely unreliable statement. Later in the conversation Krishna says that he as well as Arjuna has had many past lives. The only difference is that Arjuna does not remember these lives taking place. And Krishna remembers each of his past lives. Krishna make an attempt to use another one idea to convince Arjuna to take part in the battle. It is Karma Yoga.
