Are you in the market for a new vacuum cleaner? If you are then you have probably noticed that there are hundreds of vacuums to choose from. So how do you choose the right one? You might think that you need to spend hundreds of dollars to get a good one but this is not true. This article will give you some tips on what to look for to get the best vacuum at the best price.

The first thing you should look at is the overall design of the vacuum. If it looks flimsy and poorly constructed then it is probably a piece of junk. Choose vacuums that are well designed and solidly constructed. This means that they will probably last you longer.

After you have found a solid design you need to look at the vacuum brush. Look on the bottom of the vacuum and find the agitator or brush. A well designed brush will have a beater bar on it. A beater bar is a raised metal bump which will separate and lift the carpet fibers. It makes vacuuming more effective.

Next look at the tools that come with the vacuum. Are they well designed? Can you quickly change from floor vacuuming to using the tools? Are the tools stored somewhere on the vacuum? You want to choose a vacuum that is the most usable.

Finally look at the vacuum motor. Be careful though because manufacturers often quote weird numbers to make their product look better. They usually only tell you the amps which is how much power the motor consumes. This doesn't tell you how efficient it is. Look for a measure of the air watts to see how much vacuum it produces. Choose the vacuum that produces the most air watts.

That's all there is to it. It might be difficult to do the research but doing it will greatly improve your odds of finding a quality vacuum. Good luck and happy shopping.
