Yeast infections can appear on different parts of the body. Have you ever asked, "How do you get a yeast infection in your throat?" This question is usually asked by someone who became aware that they are inflicted with a mouth and throat yeast infection.

The dominant reason why we get this condition is generally due to the number of bacteria which is present in the body. In reality, up to four pounds of bacteria are existing in most of the adults' bodies. This helps to keep the population of yeast, a form of fungus which is also present in the body, under control. However, whenever there is a disruption in this balance, this microorganism spreads and morphs into an infection and this is how you get a yeast infection in your throat.

In order to keep the fungus in check, a lot of people have employed antibiotics. But this may result in overuse, which is one of the most common factors for yeast infections. The reason for this is that the antibiotics are not able to tell the difference between the good and the bad bacteria. They destroy the good ones too, even though the body needs it. This disturbs the delicate balance existing between the good bacteria and the fungus in the body, causing the fungus to grow rapidly, resulting in a yeast infection. When this occurs in the throat, you will get a yeast infection in the throat.

How do you get a yeast infection in your throat? Another possibility is that your immune system is weakened caused by some factors, such as stress, using steroids, and insufficient sleep. Therefore, the body is not strong enough to stop a fungus overgrowth. When this overgrowth occurs in the throat, it will cause a throat yeast infection.

People who are predisposed to yeast infections also include those who suffer from problems such as HIV/AIDS or cancer. Also, those who have had an organ transplant are at risks too. Due to the fact that their immune systems have been greatly weakened, their bodies are too weak and is not able to effectively fight infections.

Participating in oral sex is another way how you get a yeast infection in your throat. If genital yeast infections are found in your sexual partner, the fungus can spread into your mouth and throat. It is advisable to postpone any sexual activity until the condition has been cured.

These infections are not considered as STD (sexually transmitted diseases) although they can be transmitted via oral sex. However, you should note that you may also be susceptible to infections because of sexually transmitted diseases because they will weaken your immune system.

When you have a yeast infection in your throat, you may experience various symptoms. Oftentimes, you will feel a burning sensation in the throat and itchiness in the mouth and throat. You may also see a pasty white coating on your tongue and upper parts of the mouth.

Some food can be the reason how you get a yeast infection in your throat. Beef and dairy products oftentimes can be partly responsible for yeast infections due to the high amount of antibiotics administered to cows and other livestock to make them more resistant to sickness and diseases. When we consume these foods, we also take in the antibiotics which will eliminate the good bacteria in us, and, as a result, allowing the fungus to grow unchecked.
