What One needs to know about Bible Prophecy?

The Christians consider the Bible as their holy book and adhere to its doctrines. The Bible not only contains the history of Jesus' life and human civilization but it also makes confident predictions about the future of human race. While the skeptics express doubts about the value of the prophecy and assertions made by the Bible, the devout Christians believe them in blind faith. The prophecies deal with individual human beings as well as various nations.

There are both short term and long-term prophecies. These prophecies have not been proved futile. While this might seem unlikely, the religious Christians feel that the divine spirits while writing the gospels inspired the writers of Bible. While the detractors of the religious book defy the bible teachings and predictions about the future of the world, some of the recent crisis faced by the world points to the validity of Biblical predictions to an extent.

The Biblical prophecies are interesting to read and they are more than random fortune telling. As everyone knows, the Bible regards the almighty as the supreme power. The prophecies inspired by him may show the evidence to the future generations that God's foretelling was true. However, not everyone understands the true meaning of the Biblical prophecies and this result in wrong message going to people.

To counter the skeptics who doubt if the Bible can foretell the future, the devout followers of Christian religion asks them to analyze history and their own experience. It is evident that men cannot predict their own future. If men knew about what their future stores for them, many accidents and mishaps could have been avoided. On the contrary, many actions and calculations of men have resulted in disasters. The Biblical prophecies, in contrast, exist from thousands of years and they have not been proved false. Looking at the present problems the earth is going through, the time has come to look at the Biblical prophecies with seriousness.

The Biblical Prophecy regarding the fate and fall of Babylon made almost a century before its doom, demonstrate the power of Biblical prophecies. The Truth is that Babylon fell to the attacks of foreign civilizations after reaching the zenith. Another example of the importance of Bible prophecy is regarding the Future of Egypt. A prophet of Israel named Ezekiel, declared Egypt would become desolate for a period of 40 years for god's judgment. After this it will rise but would not be able to reclaim its glory.

It proved to be true when Egypt underwent repeated foreign invasions from 600 BC onwards. For around 2500 years Egypt has been dominated by outside forces. In view of these instances, the prospects of a comeback of Christ cannot be ruled out.
