Law of Services--pay and Pay Fixation
Law of services-----Pay and pay fixation
Every person who has been employed by an employer gets monthly pay and as per rules and regulations this pay is fixed in the pay scale attached to the post. We nee to know that what should be our pay on the date of our appointment. Then we start getting annual increments, proficiency step ups and this system continues till some punishment is awarded to us when they can stop our annual increments and we stop to earn our annual increments till the punishment period is over.
We need an eye on our pay fixation when we are promoted or reverted. On promotion our present pay, which we are given in the lower time scale is also taken into account and then the rules require that the pay in the upper scale may be fixed as per ruler  and as per rules they grant up one or two annual increments over and above the pay we had been getting in the lower scale;. In no case ;ay shall be fixed at a lower stage. Some time they give us punishment through which they fix our pay at a lower stage and they say that the employee shall be getting that lower pay for a particular time and then he shall be coming back at the pay which he had been drawing prior to such a punishment.
One must ensure that he is not drawing more than the pay to be fixed under the rules because when such a mistake shall come in the notice of the employer, they shall be recovering the over payment and we too shall be attracting some explanation call because if there is something wrong and which is in the knowledge of the employee, he must inform the competent authority so that the mistake must be corrected.
The employee must see that he is contributing towards General provident fund or contributory provident fund, as the case may be because such contributions are not voluntary but obligatory and he must be saving some amount with him so that he could meet all his demands during rainy days.
Pay establishes a status of a person and therefore, this is most important subject with an employee.
