Very often, convenience and fast-foods are too overused and it is important to get back to eating foods as close to their natural state as possible. So, avoiding processed foods and those with additives is a great start. If you can, try to include organic foods or at least thoroughly wash all fruits and vegetables. In addition, it may be useful to include an appropriate nutritional supplement (there are ones aimed at both men and women-particularly women trying to become pregnant).

If you smoke or drink alcohol, you should aim to stop as soon as possible, preferably for at least a couple of months before you try to conceive. In addition, you should stop using any illegal drugs and if you take prescription medication, check with your doctor that this is still safe to take.

To confirm when this is, it is advisable to use an ovulation predictor at least for a couple of months just for confirmation. Once you know when ovulation will be taking place, have intercourse for a couple of days beforehand, on the day of ovulation and for a day or two afterward.
