Feeling of belonging to someone or some family is the best feeling in the world. It provides us with security and support, ditto goes for toddlers, the more number of people he sees around, especially siblings and near ones, the greater will be the feeling of security and a sense of belonging in him.

This is where you can use the highchair to your advantage. It is obvious that the mother takes special efforts always to feed the baby before she feeds herself and the rest of the family. However, it is also required that your baby does not remain on floor or in bed alone when all the rest of the family is at the dining table having dinner. Dinner time is the best time your baby can introduce himself with the rest of his family.

You can place your toddler in the highchair and put him next to you or your spouse or between you both, this will inculcate in him a sense of security and belonging. If he has elder siblings, he will watch them eat and talk to parents and thus learn to know each one.
Home discipline is necessary when it comes to bringing up your child healthily. Dinner time is the time to show how properly each of the child has his food.

It is also required that when you put your child in the highchair you do place a plate in front of him and put some food or other that you have freshly prepared for dinner. This way he will learn to taste stuff and his tastes will develop faster. Also he will also learn to appreciate the food he likes and also learn to refuse the food he does not. This will allow you to know your baby's tastes better than the rest. You can place the plate on his highchair this will also teach him that he has to eat whatever is made for dinner in his home and that there will not be any special considerations for him or anyone in future.

Highchair will increase his visibility; he will be able to see all the food that has been kept on the dining table. As days pass and as your baby grows up you will notice that he will start demanding food which he likes from the table, this way he will learn to eat normally faster. Babies learn the most by imitating. Watching you eat with spoons will teach him to eat with spoon and you will not require doing any special efforts.

He will also learn to talk when he watches his older siblings do just the same. He will learn that there is no greater authority in home other than his parents and that he is required to obey them what ever they instruct most of the times. Highchairs can be used therefore to enthuse a feeling of togetherness and security in your child at a very young age. With this feeling of security inculcated since a long time, you can expect you child to have the same sense of affection and belonging as you wanted him to have.
