Accusation

Accusation
Allegation
Speculation
Interrogation
Searching for truth
While avoiding alienation
Personal degradation
All are a delicate task
An intercommunications skill
Not always a joy and personal thrill
Sometimes it can be
A distasteful poison pill
That thwarts a friendship
Kills a meaningful relationship
Often it takes very little
A sarcastic comment or quip
With an accusational tone
Coming from the hip
A mere sleight of the lip
The point at which things tip
Turning the tide
A remark insinuating and snide
A reaction portraying fear
As if there is something to hide
Such uncomfortable occurrences
Are most unsettling
Diminishing confidence
One's faith depleting
Leaving partners disagreeing
One's peace and poise upsetting
Causing immediate anger
Making blood boil hot
Calling things what they are not
Turning good relations
Suddenly into rot
Favoring a festering within
Whereby nobody can win
Inciting rage with which to get even
How pleasant would it be
If we just believed the best
Put every assessment to the test
Let off quarreling
And weren't such a pest
An intrusive busybody
Sticking our nose
Where it does not belong
How happily than we would be
If we could just get along
Truly people do most often
Live up to our expectations
Therefore let go of accusation
Things unfounded
Of things you are unsure
Let go of gossip
Though it devilishly does allure
Why not graciously prefer
To keep your own heart pure
And be a refined gentleman sir
Before you unecessarily begin a stir
A fishing for fodder
A means to belittle
Extinguish the fuel to enflame
Arguments to disdain
Petty discussions that profane
To question one's character
Choosing to focus on evil
Rather than celebrate the good
Be quiet and wise
As men and women should
Refuse to speak prematurely
Judge nothing before the time
Beware of misleading feelings
When in actuality all is fine
Guard your heart and mouth
Lest you be insensitive
Uncouth and heartless
Because very often
The accused are guiltless.
