Winners of King of the Mountain Revealed

Everything looks different at the base of the Lift 4. What was once a tidy Misty Maiden was converted into a race course that is far from any typical race course. Just like motocross, Misty Maiden was transformed into a Skiercross course complete with the whole entourage of rollers and gaps.

The King of the Mountain Series held this year at Telluride is actually on its 14th season. The King of the Mountain Series is also considered as the most prestigious snow racing series in the world. And last weekend, competitors from different parts of the globe has come to participate to win the most coveted King of the Mountain title, the $450,000 cash prize, two year lease on all new Jeep Patriots and an additional bonus of $20,000 cash.

For this year's King of the Mountain Series two categories were added namely the SkierCross and BoarderCross, respectively. Telluride's Y-cross racecourse has tested the skills of the most elite skiers and snowboarders in the world. Competitors were able to experience various conditions from snowy and heavy winds to a beautiful bluebird day. It can be concluded that the competitors did have quite the ride in Telluride.

Last Friday was the finals for the men and women SkierCross and here is the result:

--- US native Casey Puckett (men division) crowned 2007 World Professional Skiing Champion
--- France's Ophelie David (women division) crowned the 2007 World Professional Skiing Champion

For the BoardCross category the results are as follows:

--- Canada's Drew Neilson and Stratton Mountain, Vt's, Lindsey Jacobellis won the 2007 World Professional Snowboarding Champion titles plus cash prizes and brand new Jeeps.

For those who have missed out on all the actions at the King of the Mountain Series in Telluride last weekend here is your chance to watch it, it will be aired on March 24 from 1 to 2 pm and March 25 from 1 to 2pm on CBS Sports.

The King of the Mountain Series exemplifies the very essence of Jeep which is freedom, quality and adventure.
