Asthma is a breathing disorder caused due to the narrowing and inflammation of the airways in the lungs. Wheezing, breathlessness, rapid breathing and cough are some prominent symptoms of asthma. These symptoms may only aggravate with poor breathing techniques. The breathing patterns have to be manipulated with deep breathing, relaxation sessions and other exercises. These techniques that improve the breathing are known as breathing exercises and will help the patients to control their respiratory muscles and improve their condition.

From childhood to adult stage, asthma can be a recurring concern to some individuals. Based on studies done by medical experts, asthma is a disease that kicks off usually during infancy wherein the airways are narrowed reversibly to the point of block air to enter and get circulated to the bloodstream. When air is stopped from penetrating in, the patient can hardly breathe out. This is an alarming situation as this is a large indicator that asthma is attacking.

Exercise is a common cause of asthma attacks. A person suffering from exercise-induced asthma attacks may show asthma symptoms after a vigorous workout. Doctors believe that such an attack is triggered by a sudden change in temperature and the sensitivity of the body to humidity. A person at rest breathes through the nose, warming and humidifying the air, making it similar to the air in the lungs.

Exercise helps some people with asthma and breathing conditions as it strengthens and improves endurance and reduces breathlessness to some extent. Some breathing exercises may help improve lung function and can be learnt by working with a respiratory therapist. When learning breathing techniques, it is important to work with an appropriately trained professional because the techniques are not good for everyone. Attending pulmonary rehabilitation is the best way to learn exercise and breathing techniques.

Garlic is also considered to be an effective part of the group of natural asthma home remedies. Another popular theory for curing or reducing symptoms would be to boil garlic in milk. This is said to help in many asthmatic symptoms. There are also many home remedies involving grapes this may sound a little strange but some people swear that it is effective. The theory is that you should soak fresh grapes with seeds, in water then place them in a cool place. Then chew the grapes before bed. This helps prevent symptoms. Again, none of these home remedies have been scientifically proven to be true.

The first concoction is one teaspoon of honey with a half teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Mix these two ingredients together and then consume.

The second remedy is for people who are still in the early stages of developing asthma. Every night you should boil about ten cloves of garlic in half a cup of milk and then drink it just before bedtime.

Another possible remedy to be taken at night is to take a glass of very hot water and add a teaspoon of honey to it. Drink it slowly just before going to bed.
