Blogs are becoming more and more popular, with more people writing blogs and more people reading and subscribing to blogs. You can harness this trend and generate a ton of free traffic to your sales page.

With Google's recent change of policy, blogs hosted on Blogger are now showing up in Google's search results, opening a host of new possibilities to gather quality backlinks to your sales page by commenting on other people's blogposts.

If you take a minute to think about it, commenting on blogposts is an excellent way to generate qualified traffic to the url you include in your comment.

Firstly blogs are popular and rank highly in search results, ensuring that they are visited frequently. Additionally, readers can subscribe to blogs that have RSS feeds.

Secondly, blogs can be found in nearly every niche, when you comment on a blog in your niche there is a very high probability that people interested in your product will read your comment and visit your sales or squeeze page for more information, thus sending pre-qualified traffic to your site.

This traffic generation strategy won't cost you a cent and you can utilize this strategy with positive results in about 20 minutes a week.

The first step is to find blogposts that are in your niche and relevant to your product. You can do this by searching on Google or Technorati.

When you conduct your search for relevant blogposts, use 3-5 word phrases that your potential customers would use to search for information.

Do an initial search for the phrase with no advanced search formatting, then enclose the phrase in quotation marks ("phrase"). Look at the first couple of pages of results to find relevant blogposts. Don't just look at the top 5-6 because search results change frequently and results on the second page may move upwards in the search engine's ranking. They may also be ranked differently in other search engines.

Read the blogposts you find and consider whether you want to post a comment that will add to other readers' knowledge or enjoyment of the post.

When you write your comment, write it like a letter or as if you were taking part in a conversation. Blogs are generally written in an informal, approachable manner and you'll need to fit your comment into that tone. Sign off the comment with your name and the url for your sales or squeeze page.

Signing off the comment with your name will increase your visibility in the niche and help to build your reputation as an expert in that field.

An added bonus of using this strategy is that you're staying in touch with what people are talking about in your niche. Keeping your finger on the pulse as it were... It's important for internet marketers to stay current in the niches they are operating in so that they can anticipate demand and develop products that will sell like hotcakes!
