It is important to know when you are spending too much money on customer acquisition and when you are not spending enough. Customer acquisitionl is the cost related with convincing the customer to buy your service or product through marketing, research and advertising. Where to start? You have to think like a customer. Here are a couple surefire ways to acquire customers without blowing your budget.

Think Like A Consumer

You can save time researching what strategies will work best by thinking like a customer. Of all the things you buy or services you pay for- what keeps you coming back to certain shops or what do you look for in a business you want to try out?

Word of mouth, your trusted source told you to go there

Set Realistic Goals

Thinking you are going to get 2,000 new customers in a week is quite ambitious. If your goal is too far to reach, you don’t want to be let down before you really get going. Make your goal achievable. Start with a low number like 5 customers by the end of the week and if you make it to 10- well that’s great news and now your new goal is 11 customers by the following week and so on.

Provide Customers With Something They Need, Or Think They Need

It’s pretty hard to sell anything if people don’t think they need it. It’s your job to prove otherwise. Think of 5 reasons why any customer would need your product or service. Now keep those in your back pocket the next time someone says, well, I don’t really need it. Then let them know just why they need it. Like the old saying goes, “People don’t walk onto the lot unless they are ready to buy.”

Network-Make it Easy For Satisfied Customers To Spread the Word

One of the easiest ways to sell a product is to network and spread the word through word of mouth. When a customer of yours spreads the word to their friends, give that customer a discount like half off their next service for spreading the news. If you make it easy on happy customers, customer acquisition suddenly becomes easier when they are coming to you instead of you trying to go to them.

Follow Up

Just as important as the initial sale, it’s important to follow up with each customer for several reasons.

Make sure your customer is happy with your product or service so that you can either advertise or improve upon your product or service.
Following up shows that you care about the customer, not necessarily their patronage.
You could possibly get a repeat sale just by checking in

Use these suggestions to easily convince the customer that your product or service is something they need, something they should tell their friends and neighbors about and that you care about how they liked or didn’t like your product or service. Customer Acquisition doesn’t have to be expensive. With a little forward thinking and psychology, you will be able to get customers clamoring for your services.
