As the holidays approach shopping for your teen can be a difficult task. You want to get them something they want and will use but what? Here are some suggestions that I came up with by asking my daughters friends what they hoped to get this year . I tool three polls, the first one I asked the cheerleaders, the second one I asked the Football players and the third I posted a bulletin on MySpace. This poll was done mostly in California where we live, but I think kids are pretty much alike and most would probably love these gifts.

1. iPod - Yep the Apple iPod is still very much in demand for the teenager. iPod is a music storage device that allows the user to download their favorite music the one I got for my daughter is the 7500 song one. Check out the local apple store at the mall or if you want a better deal, look online but make sure that you are buying on a secure site and that they can get the item to you by the holiday.

2. Carrying Case - To protect the device from getting scratched up you can get a nice little case that will protect the iPod from normal wear and tear with a handy case that comes in black and white.

3. iPod Docking Station - So they already have the iPod, now they want to take it with them and listen to music with their friends. They have docking stations that you can plug into and play over speakers. They are small about the size of a 3 iPods placed together and they work well.

4. xbox 360 - Mostly the boys asked for this one, but there were quite a few girls that put it on the list to. The xbox is a gaming system that plugs into your TV. You can get additional controllers so more than one person can play. There are lots of games for this system and they are available at most movie rental stores so you can rent them first and see if its worth buying.

5. Gift Certificates to the mall - Where we live the Westfield Mall gift certificates are good at any store in the mall. But to be more specific, they asked for certificates to Hollister, Abercromby & Fitch and Pacific Sun Forever 21 and Starbucks. I have seen all these stores in almost every mall I have been to.

6. Snowboards and gear - For this one head to your local sporting goods store. If they have a board, then you can get them things to go with it like a lock or a stomp pad. You can find a good deal on complete packages too. Snowboard gear is jackets, pants and accessories like face masks and hats Beanies with rims were the top pick for hats.

7. Digital Cameras - Today teens are so into taking pictures of themselves and their friends and the digital cameras are so easy to use. You can copy the pictures right over to your computer so there is no running to the store to drop off and pick up the film.

8. Game Boy Advanced - Here is another video game player, portable though. This one fits in your pocket or bag, games are also available to rent at the local video store. They come in different colors too.

9. Ugg Boots - Every girl said they wanted a pair of Ugg's .

10. Toe Socks - A great stocking stuffer! They come in many colors and you can get them for under $5 at the local swap meet or Target.
