All you need to do is make thin slices of chocolate cake. Take care that the edges do not crumple when you slice the cake as this could affect the ultimate appearance of the chocolate cigar. Pinch the ends so that these strips look like cigars. After this, spread slightly warm chocolate on to the strips that you have cut. Spread some extra chocolate on a clean surface and coat both sides of the strips you have cut. Once the strips are covered, allow them to cool for a little while. By the time they cool, they would have absorbed the chocolate you coated them with. Add a second coating of chocolate and then a third coating. Make sure that the texture is smooth using your fingers gently on the bumps and ridges, if any. In case the strips need more chocolate, replenish and coat as necessary. Finally, sieve some cocoa powder and roll the chocolate cigars in this powder. This will give the chocolate cigars a realistic look.
This is the most basic chocolate cigar you can make at home. You could add nuts and flavor to the chocolate cigars if you are in a mood to innovate.
