Candle dyes come in a variety of styles and designs:

Candle color chips- These are the easiest way of bringing colors to your candles. They are made from paraffin wax and stearic acid. Usually, 1 diamond color chip per pound is recommended, however you can add or subtract this amount to bring a variety of candle shades and colors.

Candle color dye buds- They are used for paraffin wax. Each candle dye bud (also known as "Rosette") is made of highly concentrated candle dye and can add color to almost 10 pounds of candle wax. Candle dye buds are preferred mostly when you need to make 10 pounds or more of a candle color.

Candle powder dyes- Candle powder dyes are highly concentrated powdered dyes and pigments. They are powder and thus are packaged by weight and not by size. The recommended use of powder dyes is usually 1/8 tsp to 4 lbs of wax or, 1 oz to 1000 lbs of wax.

Liquid dyes- These are highly concentrated liquid dyes that are easily soluble in paraffin, natural waxes and natural gels. The recommended use is ½ oz. for 30-80 lbs of wax.

White Candle Dye- White candle dye is made up of Titanium Dioxide and Paraffin wax. These are suitable for making white candles. You will usually require 1 Oz. to color approximately 16 ponds of paraffin candle wax.

With the help of some basic candle color dyes, you can create almost any color. In fact, dyes are used to create numerous shades. Use your creativity and imagination and you can discover a range of new colors. For example instead of using 7 drops of liquid dyes for bright red, you can use 4 or 5 to get light pink color. In the same manner you can use other primary colors to create secondary colors. You can also make multiple color candles by adding more than one color to the wax.

Candle colors are also associated with meanings. For instance, red is for energy, passion, power. Pink is for love, emotions and spiritual awakening and Blue to concentrate on health and self-expression, peace and tranquility. So you can also choose your favorite color and get desired effects.
