It just doesn't get much better than Ugg Boots. Style, warmth, and comfort all wrapped into one pair of boots!

The name "Ugg Boots" refers to a particular style of boot that is made from genuine sheepskin. The boots were originally made in Australia. Today, an American company owns the Ugg trademark ("Ugg Australia"), but they are still made from the same Australian Merino sheepskin, only in Australia they are sold as "Australian Sheepskin Boots."

A version of Ugg Boots, the "Fug" (Flying Ugg) first made an appearance outside of the shepherd community during World War I. Pilots wore the cozy boots during cold days. Later, in the 1960s, smart surfers figured that Ugg Boots would be perfect for keeping their feet warm in between catching the waves or after coming out of the cold ocean water.

Whatever you call them, Ugg Boots are quite a hit now, everywhere. Trendsetters are tripping over themselves to get a pair. From shepherds to farmers to celebrities to teenagers to average people everywhere, you can't turn around without seeing a pair of Uggs. It came as a surprise, but now Ugg Boots are here to stay.

Now, back to the name, "Ugg." Rumor has it that "ugg" is an Australian slang word for "ugly." Whether or not this is actually how the name came about, "Ugg" now is synonymous with comfortable, casual, and stylish Australian sheepskin boots, the ones that everyone wants.

Ugg Boots come in so many styles and colors, it's hard to keep track of them all. Men's Uggs come in more basic, classic colors and styles, but for women, it's "anything goes" in terms of colors and styles. After all, women need a pair of shoes for every outfit, and, with Ugg Boots, you can almost do that.

Get some Ugg Boots in ankle-high, mid-calf, and tall versions. You can find Uggs that have flat heels or more chunky and textured soles. Generally, Ugg Boots are considered to be a casual footwear, meaning they go great with your favorite jeans. Pair them with a short skirt and opaque tights or a long skirt for some comfortable yet stylish wardrobe choices.

Winter, spring, summer, or fall, Ugg Boots work. Being exceptionally warm, your feet stay cozy in the cold weather. Because they are made from natural sheepskin materials, the fibers breath and your feet won't get sweaty or smelly in the warm weather, either. Just about the only time you can't wear Ugg Boots is during particularly wet or muddy weather, the suede doesn't hold up as well to those conditions. Guys can look just a little more rugged wearing Ugg Boots, there's always something attractive about that look!

Keeping your Ugg Boots looking great is easy. They clean up pretty well with some cold water and a soft cloth. You might need some approved leather or suede cleaner on occasion. If they do happen to get wet (or after cleaning), be careful to keep them away from any direct heat source. Never put them in a washer or dryer. Remember that wool sweater you put in the dryer once? Sheepskin can shrink, so letting your Ugg Boots airdry is important. To speed things along you can stuff some newspapers or paper towels inside to soak up any extra moisture.

Ugg Boots are great boots to have, comfortable to wear and they look cool, too. What could be better than that?
