While the Baby Shower Party was once the domain of women only, today both parents are playing a more equal role in their child's life and deserve to be part of the celebration equally. That's why the Co-ed Baby Showers are such a great idea. Plus, you can open the event up not just to aunts, nieces, and grandmothers but also to uncles, nephews, and grandfathers. Everyone will love the baby so they should all be part of the big event. If you are planning Co-ed Baby Showers, you should realize that you may want to make a few changes to the traditional shower.

Both Sexes Should Enjoy the Shower

For one if you are going to have Coed Baby Showers, you want to be sure that they are designed to include both genders. Many of the traditional games included in the shower may not go over so well with the opposite sex. Instead, you want to think of some unique games that might be fun for all your guests. While games about naming baby food flavors or guessing the girth of the pregnant mother's belly may not be a hoot for the guys, there are ways to make even traditional games fun for an all-inclusive audience. One way to make this happen is by making the games even more competitive. For example, you may want to make the games females against males.

Of course, if you don't like the competitive nature of that idea then consider eliminating the traditional games from the event. Instead, you can have a party where people mingle and chat with one another. You do want to be careful because with this arrangement some of the people end up dividing up by gender and go into separate parts of the party area. That's not a good party. Remember if you're not able to find ways to make everyone have a good time, then you're not being a good host at the coed Baby Shower Invitations.

Another possible idea for entertainment is to play a game using your guests' baby pictures. Have each person send in a baby picture then have the other guests match the photos to the other people at the party. Be sure to include yourself, as well as the parents-to-be. Because this game is fun and lively, it can be a great way to start off the coed baby shower and can be an excellent icebreaker. Remember thinking up creative activities is a plus when you're choosing a non-traditional shower.

A Few Things Will Stay the Same

With any Baby Shower Invitations, you're going to need refreshments. Try to have a wide range of foods available. For example, you might want a relish tray with vegetables and ranch dressing as well as chicken wings and cheese sticks so you can make everyone's stomach happy. Again, these types of foods can be great for a more casual, relaxed shower that doesn't necessarily include games or anything like that.

However, whether the party is a coed Baby Shower Invitations or not, you'll want to set aside some time for gifts. Most guests do enjoy watching the guests of honor open the presents, especially when both the mother and the father are part of the opening process.
