Paris and Britney: Misery Loves Company

Show me your friends and I will show you your future.

Britney Spears is not only copying Paris Hilton's partying ways - she appears to be following her skin-baring shenanigans, nearly falling out of her flimsy top. Fox News reported Spears and Hilton were snapped on their third night out in a row in Los Angeles, drinking and dancing with a bunch of sex-crazed guys - and then swapping one sexy stocking with each other.

Ever since Britney Spears, 24, dumped her husband - rapper wannabe and father of her children Kevin Federline - she has latched on to Paris her new best friend and they've been cruising the clubs of Hollywood.

Preferring the party life, Spears recently dropped her public relations rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, and apparently hasn't been able to find a new one willing to embrace the mother of two's new way of life and persona.

Britney is obviously going through a mid-life crisis at 24 and feels she is quickly losing her youth. She is now the mother of two children and has put on some additional pounds along with them. Living la vida loca seems to be the best way to cope for Spears who seemingly has removed any voice of reason from her life at this time.

Sometimes when we are bleeding within and furiously wrestling internally to secure our identity, we latch on to the strangest people. Undoubtedly misery loves company and birds of a feather truly do flock together. I guess at this reckless time in their lives Paris and Britney make the perfect celebrity duo destined for destruction. My bet is Britney comes to the end of herself quicker than Paris and has a great awakening to the reality of what it means to be a mother. Until then the two shall continue down the fast lane of life heading nowhere.

Like cotton candy, sin can be pleasurable and taste good momentarily; but it will never quite fill and satisfy you. I would rather live full and die empty than live purposelessly and later wonder what could have potentially become of me.

The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life and more abundant life here on earth through Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23; John 10:10).
