So the Question is, What is a Service Fee?

This is the very question to the answer one of my friends brought up during our discussion about credit repair. I'm not sure any of you are aware of Cornerstone Wealth and the owner John Ashley who started the business when he was a teenager. He provided a service to help people repair their credit and is the only credit repair service that has not been shut down by the FTC. Why do you think that is? The question can be answered simply because they don't help you by committing illegal acts. All the techniques that the company does can be done yourself however to do it yourself you have to be familiar with the law so you go to them in exchange for a fee and they do it for you.

This is an example of how Internet selling works. It is a very new industry and people make a lot of money doing simple things you can do yourself. One example is domain forwarding did you know that companies charge $10+ for this service when all you had to do was implement a META tag of html yourself. I recently closed up my ebay store because it was getting too stressful and the profit margins were too slim to be worth it to me. I just blogged about the topic Volume vs 6 figures which talks about some of my recent decisions to alter my business. I made a lot of money with ebay but I nearly worked myself to death 80 hours a week trying to keep up with it all and in the end started to crash when a problem arose with the manufacturer.

I have since learned from my mistake and plan to make a better webstore and to expand my affiliate marketing aspect of my business to help others to not be fooled by all the gimmicks out there online. Ebay is a great tool but do not rely on it to carry your business or you will be at their mercy if anything goes wrong. If you plan to make a storefront you need to do three things, 1st register your domain name with a separate service from your hosting account. Why is this? If you register both on the same service you risk losing control of that domain should you want to switch hosting services. Second is to find a suitable hosting service to host your website which I will post some recommendations later as soon as I finish writing the guide.

Third is to find a free merchant card system that integrates with your host. I signed up for prostores free trial but soon realized "why am I paying them for a shopping cart?" when I am doing all the coding with dreamweaver. It is no wonder OScommerce has the best reputation online and a free shopping cart service. It is going to be a little bit harder to use because you need a little bit of programming knowledge but they have all the resources available to learn it all. Why pay $249.95 or $74.95 a month for something you can do yourself saving you a couple $1,000.00 a year?
