Mallorca is one of the most popular destinations for those jetting off on their holidays due to it being not too far from home, the sun and sea being plenty in supply and the whole area being family friendly.
If you are only away for a short period you will want to pack in as much as you can and with Mallorca having several very famous tourist attractions you should find it easy to make the most out of your time away.
Something you need to be sure to check out is the Palma Cathedral. Built on the top of an already existing Arab Mosque this magnificent structure began to take form in 1225, but was not finished until a much later 1600! The style is gothic and the sense of achievement you feel as you enter this building with its huge pillars, arched ceilings and massive stained glass windows will overcome you.
Once you have spent some time admiring the amazing work of over 4 centuries you could be forgiven for taking it easy and taking a trip along the coast. The beaches and sea side attractions are never too far away from wherever you may be and the white sand and warm breezes will welcome you for as long as you care to stay.
If you enjoy sampling food from traditional style restaurants then you will be spoilt for choice in Mallorca. Something that is very good about this holiday destination is that the tourism has not destroyed the culture and quaintness of the towns and villages that are home to so many of these restaurants.
An example of an old fashioned Mallorcan village is Valldemossa in the mountains. The buildings seem to come straight out of the mountain itself, with the mixture of green foliage in-between creating a location only found once in a blue moon. It's a lovely place to spend a sunny afternoon with a light bite to eat, as apart from other tourists there is nothing else around!
