Planning a dinner party? I love to have dinner parties. I really enjoy thinking about what I am going to serve and getting everything prepared. From the meal to having the table decorated just right. My fiance tells me to just order pizza. He thinks it's too much work. I however enjoy doing it, and I know in the end he loves the food that I have prepared and appreciates it just as much as our guests.

I have put together one of my favorite menus that I enjoy cooking and most of all eating. It is a big hit. The first time I made this was about 17 years ago. I have since reunited with friends and you'll never guess, my fiance since then. In conversations with them they still remember the night I made the following meal. So if you want to make a good impression try this one out.

Main dish - Chicken in a white wine mushroom sauce, Creamy potatoes, Vegetable casserole.

Chicken in White Wine Mushroom Sauce (better know as Sharons' (my Moms') Wine Chicken)!

Chicken:
Slice 8 to 10 pieces of boneless skinless chicken breasts in half. Dredge in flour seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic to taste. In a large pan heat oil on medium high heat and saute both side until lightly brown. Place cooked chicken breasts in a baking dish.

Sauce:
Saute 2 large onions in 4 tbsp. of butter until soft. Add 4 tbsp. of flour, cook and stir approximately 5 minutes. Add 1 1/2 cups chicken broth and 1/2 cup white wine. Add approximately 12 sliced mushrooms and season to taste. Poor over chicken and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Creamy Potatoes:
10-12 potatoes
2 packages of cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
3 tsp. Butter
1 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Onion powder
pepper to taste

Cook potatoes like you would for mashed potatoes. Once soft drain water then mash with a hand mixer until potatoes are in small chunks. Add the cream cheese, sour cream, butter, salt, onion powder and pepper. Mix with an electric mixer until very smooth. Transfer potatoes into a oven safe casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Vegetable Casserole:
3 cups broccoli
3 cups carrots
3 cups cauliflower
1 cup mayo
1/4 cup chopped onion
3 tsp. Horseradish
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup buttered bread crumbs

Steam veggies until just a soft. You don't want them too soft as you will be baking them in the oven. Mix mayo, onion, horseradish, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Once combined mix through the vegetables and place them in an oven safe dish. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Well there you have it, a main dish that you and your guests will go crazy over. Just add one of your favorite appetizers and deserts and you will have a complete meal.
