It can be frustrating to potty train a puppy. Not only it will stir your patience over, it is also going to be a potential mess. Unless you will give them proper training, puppies will never know what you expect from them. Always remember that in potty training your puppy, keep your temper off the high scale. Always have patience with your puppy - it's just a baby dog after all. With that said, I gathered some of the easiest ways to potty train your new puppy.

Crate helps a lot in potty training your puppy. Remember to put your dog in the crate whenever you are not going to be around for a while, like when you are going to work, sleep, or do errands. It is natural for them since dogs are den animals. He will cry at first and will want to be released, but with time and patience he will get used to being inside the crate and they will find it fun eventually.

Go with your puppy every time he goes out. That way you can lead him and you can make sure that he goes the same area of the yard each time. In time, your puppy will know what he's supposed to do. Allow 10 minutes for him to potty. Let him play as a reward each time he potties outside.

Always take the puppy outside after he eats and drinks. Also, take him out during playtime or excitement, when you first arrive home from work, and first thing in the morning. This is the time he is likely to potty, so take him out to prevent accidents inside. Keep track on how he is doing by writing a potty journal as this will help you flag the time he frequently goes for potty.

Teach him to use signals whenever he wants to go out. Signals such as barking, ringing a bell, or scratching the door before going outside will do. This will help you know when he has to "go".

You cannot prevent "accidents" from happening, so invest in odor neutralizers just in case your dog potties inside. When you spot your dog about to do it, act immediately: startle it with a penny can and run it outside. If not, bite your lip as you clean the mess and use odor neutralizers.

These are just some of the easiest ways to potty train your new puppy. Always remember that it is going to take a lot of patience from you. But the feeling of knowing that your puppy knows how to potty by himself is simply priceless, and by following these tips will give you that feeling in time.
