The Benefits Of Finding A Government Foreclosure
A government foreclosure is not the ideal situation for someone losing the home. Once the home is sold, the original buyer will still owe the bank the remaining balance, if the home is sold for less than what is left owing on it. The one thing our government doesn't want to own is homes. They aren't in the real estate market, so a foreclosed home is a pain to the government. A government foreclosure is pretty common. It's not that people set out to buy a home with the intent of not making the payments. It could have been the dream home they have always wanted, but some unfortunate set of events has prevented the ability of making the monthly house payment.
There are many low income homes today that are financed or the backing on them, is done through our government. People buying this type of home usually don't have a lot of money and in many cases the payments are calculated on the amount of money they make, but some people either choose to not make their payments or because of circumstances, can't make the payments. This type of home is a government foreclosure. You can also find homes that have been government financed, for someone who has been in the military and that home is also a type of government home that can go into a government foreclosure if the payments are not being made.
You can find a government foreclosure in a government listing, or you can check with the banks or local real estate offices. Many times you will find a government foreclosure in an auction. The home would go to the highest bidder. They often have a starting point, but you would be surprised at how little you can pay for a government foreclosure.
