Appalachian State 34 Michigan 32 Even sports fanatics were saying "Appalachian Who?" Even people who did not know much about sports knew that it was big news that some tiny school from North Carolina had beaten perennial powerhouse Michigan on their field no less. People have long detested the New York Yankees for no other reason than they win. People right now are rooting against the New England Patriots because the press has painted them as invincible.

The moral here is who the heck wants to be born with a silver spoon in his mouth. What is the fun in that? People distrust the competency and skill of those who have everything handed to them.

All the world loves to see the underdog win. They love to see the unbeatable beaten. What this tells me is that even though you have failed innumerable times that when you make your comeback it is going to be that much more impressive. It is going to be that much more of a story. People will talk about it. Your friends and family who knew you when, will be moved, in some cases to tears, when you pull yourself up and make something of yourself.

I do not care how many bankruptcies you have had. I do not care how many failed marriages. I do not care how long you have battled substance abuse issues. You can turn it around.

What you have to realize though is that in order for someone to be able to write that story you have to be determined to live it. You have to change the way you think. Once you have that accomplished, you have to change the way you act. Stop playing the victim and start being the victor.
