In the early 1990's, Paxil entered the pharmaceutical market. Its manufacturer is a company called GlaxoSmithKline. Paxil (paroxetine) is classified as an antidepressant drug which falls under a group of medications known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors SSRIs), which are frequently used to treat individuals diagnosed with depression, social anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and panic disorder.

If your child has been prescribed Paxil, or if you've taken Paxil within the last 3 years and have experienced severe withdrawal symptoms or debilitating side effects, you need to consult with your doctor first and then be advised by an experienced personal injury attorney or a lawyer who handles Paxil lawsuits. A life-threatening condition called serotonin syndrome can happen when Paxil is taken together with other drugs used to treat migraine headaches, commonly known as 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor agonists (triptans). Symptoms of serotonin syndrome include restlessness, hallucinations, loss of coordination, rapid heartbeat, increased body temperature, quick changes in blood pressure, overactive reflexes, diarrhea, coma, nausea and vomiting.

A competent Paxil attorney should be able to advise you as to the best course of action, including legal action concerning your personal situation and/or claim, which could potentially include a Paxil class action lawsuit if similar damages have been suffered by enough people. There is a certain amount of time to evaluate a potential claim for a Paxil class action lawsuit, so take action quickly.
