There is no woman on the planet that has the perfect body. This includes women ranging from those waif like models who appear to be starving themselves to your favorite full celebrity. The perfect body just does not exist.

Now, don't get me wrong. There are a few women who seem to come close to having a perfect body, but even they have flaws and flaws are all about what we are talking about in this article. Whether you are a fashion model walking the runway in Milan or a mom trying to get the kids to their soccer game, there are ways to hide flaws with the type of clothing you wear.

Women tend to be unhappy with two areas of our bodies. We either tend to be top heavy or bottom heavy. Fashion gurus refer to this as having either a pear shaped or apple body type. Fortunately, we can do a lot to improve both looks with our outfits.

Assume you have a pear shaped body. This means you tend to show any additional weight across the hips and buttocks. Your thighs will typically be full as well. In contrast, your positives tend to be found in your upper body with a well defined bust line, shoulders and arms. Given this profile, our goal is to move the point of attraction for the eyes up the body.

For bottoms, we want to avoid anything that is tight such as pants or emphasizes the area such as a miniskirt. A better choice is to wear a more relaxed skirt falling below the knees can be ideal. Wear darker colors without any graphics. Moving up the body, we want to emphasize the face with turtlenecks and V-necks. Shirts that are a bit tight are good as is color. Jackets can be worn, but make sure they fall below the area where you have hip issues. Overall, this look will bring the eyes up to your strong points and away from your problem areas.

The apple body type emphasizes the opposite aspects of the pear shaped body. The legs and waist tend to be slim, but the upper body tends to be a bit heavy. The bust line can be dramatic, which is a positive thing, but it often comes with a thick midsection and meaty arms. Once again, the outfits we wear can create a look that minimizes our flaws. Our goal is to highlight two things - your legs and our cleavage. This is a time tested strategy and has worked forever.

Starting with our lower half, we want to emphasize those legs by showing them off. Short skirts are a definite plus. Do not go crazy, but a nice pair of legs will always attract the eyes. If it is cool outside, where snug pants with a lower cut waistline. Pockets in the back are often advisable to emphasize your assets.

Switching to our upper body, we really want to put the focus on the cleavage and face. We can create a nice vertical line with V-necks. The shirts should fit comfortably, but not to tightly. A tease is always better than a show as the saying goes. Light material is preferable to heavy. Jackets area also a plus as they tend to flatten out problem areas and move the focus to the cleavage area.

If you have problem areas that cause you great concern, don't feel too bad about them. Everyone has a flaw, even those supermodels. If you doubt what I am saying, do a search on YouTube for celebs with no makeup to see just how flawed even the beautiful people are. Fortunately, you can do a lot to modify a look by simply choosing the right outfit.
