Most people are not aware that Ocean Wave Generation Stations can operate with small but constant waves. Do Ocean Wave Hydro Electric Systems need Big Waves? No but it helps quite a bit; depending on the design of course. And as you probably know along the United States shore line the Pacific Ocean waves are much bigger than the Atlantic side, which are both many times larger than the Gulf Coast, unless there is a Hurricane of course.

Where along the Pacific Coastline do Ocean Wave Generation Stations make the most sense? Well it is said that San Francisco Bay inlet has some of the largest waves in the world. If so, then so does the mouth of the Columbia River as it meets the Pacific Ocean in Oregon. Of course you ought to take a look at the North Shore of Hawaii, holy crap they are big and in other nations check out the waves in some parts of Australia.

For Oregon Columbia River Mouth you know that area is known for alternative energies because about 50 miles inland are the nuclear power plants. And up river are all the Hydroelectricity power plants of Bonneville Power. Oregon is very pro alternative energy and perhaps it might also have large waves there.

In fact, I remember seeing something on the Discovery Channel of how tough the rescues were for boaters, which got caught in the high tides. This was another reason I might mention; Carpinteria, Ventura Country, Pt. Hueneme, San Onofre and such, also along the California shoreline.

Ocean Tide energy generation is the renewable energy wave of the future. I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought.
