Everyone can agree that a fountain is a beautiful fixture for any garden. You can have a small pool with fish and a fountain that is just simply breathtaking. Another great idea is to make a rock garden with a fountain in it. This can be beautiful, breathtaking, and relaxing all at once. A rock garden with a fountain in it is very easy to make, and building it yourself should be no problem.
Choosing The Rocks
Your rock garden is something that will be unique and interesting. If you want to keep it unique and interesting, try to find some of the stones yourself. If you are creating a large rock garden with a fountain, it can be difficult to hand pick every rock and stone from nature. You will probably need to purchase your larger stones from a quarry or a home improvement store that sells large stones and rocks. However, even though you are getting them from a store, you can still choose them. Find rocks and stones that appeal to you and that you find interesting. In addition, it helps to find at least some of your stones and rocks from nature. Since your rock garden with a fountain will be your little piece of serenity, finding rocks from nature will help to make it a more peaceful setting. Go to a local river, take off your shoes, roll up your pants, and wade right in. You will be surprised at how many beautiful stones you can find! These stones have been tossed and tumbled by the water for so long that many of them are as smooth as any processed stone.
Choosing Your Fountain
A rock garden with a fountain is a great idea, but you will want to be careful with what type of fountain you choose for your rock garden. The size of your fountain truly depends on the size of your rock garden. A rock garden with a fountain needs to be proportionate. A large rock garden will look silly with a small fountain, and a small rock garden simply will not work with a large fountain. Talk to someone at your local home improvement store if you are not sure what size fountain you should use, especially if you are building an indoor garden fountain.
Once you have your fountain and the rocks, simply use an adhesive to keep the rocks together (a mortar will work, but make sure you talk to someone at your local home improvement store to see if it is the right one for what you are doing), and install the fountain!
