Marla's voice brought me back to the dinner table. Standing next to her was a man about six feet tall dressed in a tee shirt and blue jeans. He was whispering to Gideon and must have come to the table while I was glancing around the restaurant.

"John," said Marla,"this is an old friend of ours. Theophilus Marcus. Theo is happy that he could meet you." We exchanged greetings and he joined us at the table. "Theo and I have worked on many projects together," Gideon said. "He'll join us for dinner."

"My pleasure," replied Theophilus.

When the waiter brought our dinner, he also brought dinner for Theophilus. Anticipating my question, Gideon said, "Theo passes through here often enough that they know what he likes for dinner. He's a regular."

"I thought you said that the show would start soon, Gideon," I said.

"It has started, John. Each one of us can call up a special show, which is exclusively for that person. Others can join in, if they so desire. There are the controls over there." Gideon pointed to a box with a screen, somewhat like a TV screen. It was controlled by a panel of buttons, each button being a different color.

"It's relatively simple to operate, John. I should have explained it to you earlier," Gideon continued. "It's almost like life itself. You press the green button and think about where you want to go and feel how you would like to feel. In an instant you'll be part of the show. If you don't like what you find, or you don't want to stay, just change your mind, strike the red button and everything stops. From that point, you can return to where you started or go directly to another scene. Time and space are no obstruction. It uses that transdimensional mechanism I told you about earlier this evening. Very simple gadget, very useful, actually."

"May I try it?" I asked in excitement.

"Whenever you wish," replied Gideon. "Just remember the emergency button in case of problems."

"Problems, Gideon? I thought this was for entertainment. Why would I have problems?" I asked.
