What Types of Opt In Incentives Can You Use to Build Your List?

When you are structuring your opt in incentive, you have many choices. You can offer any number of free items as incentives to your visitor to opt in. You can offer free ebooks, free newsletters, free articles, a subscription to a free tips list, free reports, free software downloads, free trial offers, free information, a free ecourse or any other item that has a high perceived value but a low cost to yourself. Another effective method of compelling visitors to become subscribers is to offer them membership to a members-only website that has a high perceived value. You could create a database of useful information or articles, of ebooks or special reports, or of software that is useful to your audience, and limit it so that only members can receive it.

When you read that list of incentives to offer, you may feel as though it would be impossible to create everything (or even some of it) in any reasonable time frame. But keep in mind, that when you are first starting out, all you need is one giveaway product. However, you can structure it so that you are actually reusing a lot of your writing.

For example, let's just imagine that one day you write a series of 7 articles on 7 aspects of your business. For example, if your business is gardening, you might write an article each on 7 aspects of gardening---the soil, weeding, planting, fertilizing, etc. You can submit those articles to an online article directory to create traffic to your website.

Next, you could compile all those articles into one report, add a few tips or additional resources, and give it away as a free report. Next, you could assemble useful tidbits from the report you have created, and use that information to create your first 10 emails for your auto responder sequence.

So after basically writing one set of articles that may take you one morning to write, you have articles for distribution, a free report to give away, and your first 10 emails for your auto responder campaign.

Imagine if you were to repeat that process three times. You would have 21 articles, about 30 emails in your auto responder, and 3 reports. If you planned the topics on your free reports, you could assemble them together, add some more useful information, and you would have a full-fledged ebook which you could sell to your email list.

When you first get started, you might not want to create your first giveaway, rather you might want to use someone else's. In this case, I recommend that you use one of my own free giveaway books, or one called Opt In Strategy, which I also use a giveaway.
