Dominion & Domination
Somewhere we lost the definition and the goal of humanity. The Hebrew Testament began with the concept that we were to take dominion over the world that we were placed in. We were to be good stewards of the environment- the earth. Dominion is the ability to transcend our limitations whereas domination is a losing proposition of the egoic mind.
Diving deeper, we have the ability to intervene in the ontological constructs of the world. Why aren't we?
Why is the Western church so impotent? The kids at least want to know "where's the power"? I do too. Why are so few prayers answered, so few miracles seen, so few people even questioning WHY? While most would settle for a minor miracle like healing a headache, in light of some 2012 probabilities, we need to be looking at more major league action.
Something like TUOMO!
This full-fledged yogi exercise of drying a stack of frozen, water soaked sheets by ones body heat alone while sitting stark naked on a frozen lake surely qualifies for some dominion concept. As Mircea Eliade put it, "It may be that we in the West have secretly longed for such magical dsiplays as fire-walking and TUOMO to prove the lie to our enculturated conviction of limitation, constraint, and being victimized, and, in our attempt to dominate nature in turn, we lay waste to her at every hand."
Maybe it's with the headache or toothache that we must begin.
Jesus said that if we were faithful in the little, then being faithful in the much larger would be automatic. But be it dominion or domination, it must first begin with the TRUE SELF over the FALSE SELF. We begin the work at home, on ourselves. So, whatcha waitin' on? Start kickin' some butt, and take no prisoners. This is the real deal!
