"Determination, Dedication and Devotion" are considered the three pillars which determine an individual's nature. These qualities instil in man a fighting spirit, a will to succeed and most importantly faith and trust in God. If any of these three qualities are absent, man becomes weak and vulnerable. Right through our lives we come across many opportunities. Some may be easy, while others not so. When faced with difficulties and testing moments, it is very easy to back out and take an easier option. However no one respects a quitter. Even in the early days, in the times of empires, during battles, it was always the king who led from the front. Retreating during a battle was just unacceptable. Such soldiers were considered traitors. Everyone was expected to fight with all their courage to achieve victory even up to the point of death. We too should display such valour and willpower while going about our tasks. It is said, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." This toughness is not attributed always to the physical aspect. More often than not it refers to man's inner strength and self belief for. This is where the power comes from. One has to have immense faith in God and develop a divine connection with Him. Such people will never give up. Even in impossible situations they will strive till the end, always knowing that there is always a helping hand. Such dogged determination doesn't come overnight. It has to be cultivated. We should all set targets and be bent on achieving them. No matter how many setbacks or mishaps may occur, they shouldn't dilute our burning desires and definiteness of purpose. These qualities can be nurtured by reading some easily available motivational e-books, inspirational material and free self help books. These help to imbibe in us the above qualities and also help us in our personal spiritual growth and to discover the wealth within ourselves. What we must have is the determination to grow spiritually. So many great inventions and discoveries of the world are credited to the scientist's dedication and perseverance. They may have been unsuccessful but they never gave up. Each experiment was a step in the right direction. Similarly we should persevere at whatever we set our minds at. Never give up until the target is reached, the mission accomplished. Whatever you may come across in life, remember these words from one poet, "Success is failure turned inside out- The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit- It's when things seem worse that you must not quit!"
