Home Owner = Curse
When I first arrived to the United States it took me a while to understand that money is the beginning and the end, the system, the credit rating, the banks, moneymoneymoney, everybody wants your money. Gotta hold tight to your money, run fast, keep running, faster, faster, they are catching up to you!!! This is how the day goes by, immersed in this endless rat-race when at a glimpse of your left eye at your watch you realize it's time to go home, work day is over and you jump into your car eager to leave the office and join your family for a nice time. Your head is already home and as you get closer to the big old white square door that guards your garage, things start to slow down, you park the car, open your door and say the typical "Honey, I'm hooooome" you unwind walking towards the living room, turn to your right and put your briefcase on the floor and as you start opening the mail, the phone rings.
The atmosphere charges up to the frequency of your own personalized ring tone, 1st, 2nd, at the 3rd ring you pick up and you listen to that voice, that exact same voice you've heard many many times before, that same friendly voice that got you in trouble the last time you listened to it for more than a minute, same personality, a different tone, a different rhythm, but the same voice that rips through your ear first and then through your brain with the power of a 10,000 volt lighting. HI, IS THIS SONNY? HI SONNY MY NAME IS JOHN AND I AM CALLING IN REGARDS TO YOUR MORTGAGE, YOU WANT TO LOWER YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENTS? GET RID OF YOUR CREDIT CARDS DEBT? PAYOFF YOUR CAR? ANY STUDENT LOANS? GET CASH ON HAND TO TRAVEL THE WORLD!?!?! At a blink of an eye there they are! They want to hook you up with another of those strange loans that got you in trouble the last time, you gotta run! Hold to your money! They want it! RUN, RUN!
