Leeds is a playful city that is full of stimulating cultural and heritage sites, which are thrilling to prospect. over 100,000 people come to work in the city centre every single day and thousands more come to the city to shop, eat out or only to enjoy the range of attractions Leeds has on offer.
With some exciting modern architecture and snazzy shops, Leeds has really transformed itself in recent years. although, there are still many buildings that evoke the city's Victorian splendour, too. an of the most well-known Victorian buildings is leeds town hall, which was planned by the architect Cuthbert Brodrick.
Leeds also boasts the amazing Kirkstall Abbey, which is located in the western outskirts of the city. This gorgeous Abbey is widely regarded as one of the most complete examples of a medieval Cistercian abbey in britain. It boasts significant architecture, as well as gorgeous gardens that are full of wildlife and greenery.
Kirkstall Abbey was started in 1152 and took over 75 years to build. The significant ruins have been painted by artists such as turner and the abbey is now a Grade 1 listed building. In the summer, visitors flock to watch open-air concerts and plays in the gorgeous grounds of the Abbey.
Leeds has a great shopping centre, which has a store that are suitable for any budget. in fact, you will find high end stores in the city's Victoria Quarter, containing branches of harvey nicholls, Flannels and other designer shops.
