One of the challenges that can face every seller who wants to make money on eBay is the battle to find merchandise to resell. While there is always something available to resell, most items come with problems. Either the item is not popular, the price is too high to allow for a profit once a sale is made, others have already saturated the marketplace, or the products found don't fall within the seller's market niche.

There are buying opportunities out there for those who are willing to do a little investigation and legwork however. One of those buying opportunities is from retailers and other businesses that are closing. If done correctly this can be a very valuable source of products for those who wish to make money on eBay.

There some downsides to this resource. Probably the biggest is just locating businesses before all of the best buying opportunities are gone. Just buying products at a discount is not a good way to consistently make money on eBay. A good strategy to ensure you are among the first to know is to routinely visit stores and businesses that sell items within your market niche. Introduce yourself and ask if they are aware of others who are closing. While you are there be sure to see if the there is closeout or excess merchandise that you might be able to buy at a discount.

There is the risk of items being severely shop worn, without manufacturer boxes or packaging, limited in quantity or damaged. To make money on eBay it is important to thoroughly inspect and test items before buying.

Merchandise that is deeply discounted can be located when businesses hold closeout sales. If you are quick to respond and check the quality of the products first, these can become great opportunities for you to make money on eBay. Give it a try.
